1st December 1860

A piece of board about six feet long was picked up on Sunday morning at Saltwick. Carved and with the name "Newcastle" in cut guilt letters. It is supposed to belong to a ships head or quarter board. Two coble thwarts painted green, supposed to belong to the fishing coble missing from Scarborough since 20th November. Also two pieces of board marked "Diligence" cut in wood the other in yellow letters "Mary and Sarah" and a tar cask half full of Stockholm Tar marked "POS" have been washed up in Robin Hood's Bay.
