"Prime Minister"
And "Otter"
19th
September 1903
These two Scarborough
trawlers were in trouble at the
same time as the "Eva".
The 150ton steam trawler "Prime
Minister" owned by the Hull
Steam Trawler Company went ashore
on the Iron Rocks, half a mile
south of Hayburn Wyke at 1:05am.
The Captain James Sellers and
crew of nine were taken off by
the Peterhead steam driffter
"Margaret". The "Prime
Minister" broke up.
The
"Otter" went aground at
Ravenscar at 2am and Captain
Edward Sellars and his crew of
six were discovered rowing
aimlessly in the fog by Bay
fishermen at 5am. The tug "Cambria"
of Scarborough was unable to move
the "Otter". Edward was
James Sellers cousin.
