The Naddod

16th December 1898

The Naddod a 320 ton wooden steamer from Egersund, built in 1890, travelling light. While on passage to Blyth she ran aground South of Ness in fog. The Lifeboat reached the vessel before the rocket apperatus could be used and the Captain and ten crew were taken off. The ship was refloated later on the same day and towed to Whitby, with damage to her keel and propeller.
