This was a collier of 612 net tons, owned by James Westall, of Sunderland, with Captain J.Collinson. She was in ballast from Immingham to the Tyne. In foggy weather she struck rocks 13/4 miles E.S.E of Robin Hood's Bay, near Mill Beck, ripping a hole in her iron hull. The Captain decided to back her off on the rising tide, but the influx of water was more than the pumps could clear and she rapidly sank in the deeper water. The Lifeboat was launched into a N.E wind with a strong ground swell and took off some of the crew, the remainder came ashore in the ships boat.

The Wreck lay on an even keel with much of the superstructure above water, until salvage work was carried out, removing much of the vessel for scrap. What remained was leveled with explosives.
