Beaumanoir

2nd May 1941

While carrying a cargo of coal from Blyth to London the 2,324 ton steamship was bombed by German aircraft. Although badly damaged the Beaumanoir did not sink and was taken in tow. The aircraft returned to finish her off and she sank seven miles off Robin Hood’s Bay.
